Howdy Dreamers! NFI is back to give you the latest of late mail!
Who’s pumped? I know I certainly am! Why? It’s almost the weekend and that spells DT action!
With a win last week in my main H2H finals, I’ve got the weekend off, but I’m still involved in a few other leagues and office comps so I’ve gotta stay on my toes!
UPDATE: Konrad Hurrell has been dropped to play in the NSW Cup for the Auckland Vulcans this weekend. Either Lewis Brown or Ben Henry will take his place in the centres.
Not much juice left to squeeze out of the Round 24 Late Mail unfortunately.
Cronulla’s Ben Ross has a broken hand and whether he plays or not, that is certainly a concern for those that have him. Roy Asotasi is a big chance of returning, and Ray Thompson has been ruled out with a shoulder injury. Hardly DT relevant for most really.
What is DT relevant is the fact Corey Parker WILL play – starting the in back row.
Also on my relevant radar – Luke Bailey is gone for the season, and Ash Harrison, Greg Bird and even Nate Myles all have injury concerns. That make Titans prop Luke Douglas a neat little pick up for any of you needing a POD in your front row.
LATE MAIL FOR ROUND 24
Bulldogs v Tigers
Late Mail
| James Graham and Sam Kasiano are back and set to play after both got through the Bulldogs final training session. For the Tigers, provided BMM is right to play, he might be a chance to get the nod over Tim Simona, although Coach Tim Sheens has never been a fan of having four forwards on his bench.
Broncos v Storm
Late Mail
| Corey Parker will take his place in the starting side, but as The Postman has stated previously, don’t expect him to be at his 100% DT blockbusting best. Ben Te’o is likely to shift to the back row with Matt Gillet pushed back to the bench and Brendon Gibb drop off. On the Storm front, don’t be surprised if Matt Duffie is a late call up for the Melbournians. As for whether Dane Nielsen, Sika Manu, Sisa Waqa, Rory Kostjasyn or Jaiman Lowe will play NRL or NSW Cup, well… even the Sharks NSW Cup coach doesn’t know which players will be getting off the plane to join his joint-venture side.
Raiders v Roosters
Late Mail
| Dane Tilse returns to the Canberra line-up after missing last week’s action due to the birth of his first child. Jarrad Kennedy is expected to be 18th man, whilst Glen Buttriss could very well be a late inclusion. In the Chook pen, either Tasi, Takairangi or Arona will miss out – will know more this afternoon.
Sharks v Rabbitohs
Late Mail
| Wade Graham, Nathan Gardner and Benny Pomeroy have all been given no chance of playing, whilst prop Ben Ross remains in serious doubt with a suspected broken hand. If Ross is ruled out, expect Mark Taufua to take his place in the starting line-up. If he does play, there is every chance he will ruin his hand even more. Meanwhile, big Roy Asotasi is likely to make his return for the Rabbitohs after his stand-out performance for North Sydney last weekend was endorsed. Justin Hunt will drop off with either Ben Lowe or Jason Clark likely to miss out as well. Nathan Peats’ spot on the bench should be safe.
Warriors v Panthers
Late Mail
| UPDATE: Konrad Hurrell is expected to play for the Auckland Vulcans in the NSW Cup this weekend. Either Lewis Brown or Ben Henry will take his place in the centres. Simon Mannering is 50/50 to play after resuming light training duties this week, but don’t expect the Warriors to rush him back with not much to play for. The Panthers will fly to New Zealand today to complete their final training session before the game on Sunday. Adam Docker (who?) will replace Danny Galea who is out injured.
Titans v Eels
Late Mail
| Greg Bird, William Zillman and Ashley Harrison will need to pass fitness tests tomorrow to play. You’d expect that if the Broncos and Tigers both win tonight, and there is still a slight chance of them further aggravating their injuries, they won’t play. Matt Ryan looks to be out of favour with Brad Arthur after he wasn’t named for the Eels. Justin Horo is back in the thick of it with the Eels expected to be 1-17.
Sea Eagles v Knights
Late Mail
| Jason King and Steve Matai are likely to play with Dean Whare on standby for Matai. For the Knights, Joel Edwards is again likely to be left out as 18th man with the Novacastrians expected to be 1-17.
Dragons v Cowboys
Late Mail
| Matt Cooper looks set to make his return and don’t rule out Beau Scott just yet, given the long turnaround for the Monday game. Josh Miller or Jack Stockwell would make way for Scott. Ray Thompson has been ruled out with a shoulder injury, with Ricky Thorby added to the squad and likely to be 18th man, with hooker Anthony Mitchell coming off the bench instead.
Got any even Later Late Mail to share with the DreamTeamers? Let us know! We’re only here to help as much as we can!

So if CP13 doesn’t play will you get angry at us for listening to you?
Ha! I’ll let you take that up with the Postman…. he can get a bit stubborn sometimes. He claims no one read his post correctly.
I think he should change his name to the Spin Doctor
.. he’s very good at it!
Corey Parker will play tonight.
My biggest hit was ‘Little Miss Can’t Be Wrong’ NFI… oh there’s layers to that.
Just like last week, at this stage Corey Parker is playing… see it’s not that difficult to understand! NFI is just lucky it’s a FNF game.
PS. If anyone did read my post last week as well I said I was selling CP13, so Caveat Emptor!
PS. The Postman is mailing this in from Gerroa Beach on the laptop with pork chops frying on the portable gas stove… commitment people.
Sounds like The Postman is pleading not guilty to the Grade 4 Smother, maybe needs to be upgraded.
