The Thriller returns…?

Señor Winning July 16, 2012 No Comments

Señor Winning here to take a look at a potential POD heading into the finals.

It’s close to finals, and something awesome’s lurking on the wing…

OK, that was really ordinary, but you get what I mean. The Knights are back, and so is their high flying winger Akuila ‘The Thriller’ Uate.

Or is he?

Starting the year at $262,000, many coaches decided to invest – after all, the new scoring it was thought would benefit Uate, and the Knights were considered to be legitimate title contenders. Sure, he was going to miss time for Origin, but he was still worth the initial outlay.

Or so we thought.

The Knights have been poor for the majority of the season, and their winger’s scoring has suffered, culminating with a monstrous 2 in Round 13 against the Broncos. But the Knights have got their act together, and Uate has scored four tries in his last two outings for scores of 54 and 80, against the Rabbitohs and Sea Eagles, two of the better sides in the NRL.

He’s bottomed out and is now priced at $179,200, but that will rise after lockout this week. He’ll still have a staggeringly low BE, but the Knights have a tough run home, with all remaining games against top eight sides with the exception of the Warriors and Raiders, and both fixtures are on the road.

So, is it time to welcome Aku into your Dream Team? Or is too much of a risk? Share your thoughts below.
