The DT Scoop: Round 17

The Postman has the scoop on Round 17… what DT questions did you need answering?

Heads up DreamTeamers - your DT questions now have answers.

Every week we ask for your DT tips or questions on our Facebook Page and whichever DT guru gets the call to pen this article will respond on Friday.

The Dream Team Scoop: ROUND 17 with your local Postman, Chairman Un has been exiled after telling everyone Tony Williams would NOT play last weekend, The Postman knew otherwise and Un is paying the price for not consulting him.

From Daniel Gatwick - Bringing the big guns on Facebook.

Who are your cows for next year?

The Postman replies…
As good as we are here at DreamTeamers.com.au Daniel, we aren’t that good. It’s just too hard to look into the future when there is still half a season to go in 2012 and any players that currently look like semi-decent cash cows for next season could end up playing 7 or 8 games this season and totally rub out any cash cow potential they might have had. Some kids who might be handy next season however I can give you: Halfback Mitchell Cornish at the Raiders (with a new coach there, expect Terry Campese to finally have a new partner), backrower Chris Grevsmuhl at the Cowboys (there’s a long depth chart but the Cows love this kid) and Vaipuna Tia-Kilifi at Penrith (could form a devastating second row with Sika Manu in a year or two). Put them into your little book of DreamTeamers mate.

From Mark Williams - Have Mercy!

“Who is the best replacement for Josh Dugan? I’ve gone Dane Gagai because then I can afford Nathan Hindmarsh.”

The Postman replies…
I’ve covered the Dugan situation right here mate in ‘Dugan Blows’ - and I still believe you don’t make a move right now. At the end of the day Hindy is probably a must-have given he will continue to play minutes even to Round 26, but if you can upgrade Dugan to a Billy Slater or a Ben Barba after Origin finishes – then that’s your best plan of attack. If you need to get Hindy in – make another move, don’t weaken your outside backs unless it is unavoidable – as a decent backrower is easier to find than a decent outside back.

From Rachel - Ohh yeah she did… on Twitter.

“Time to get T-Rex into my team? And is it time to trade out Corey Norman as well? I have $76,000 bank & 12 trades left.”

The Postman replies…
The Dixie Ice Creams have stuck solid with T-Rex through the entire year of suspensions and the good part is when he has played – he delivers (at least for a week) in Round 16. Given Manly had the bye for Origin 3 – no real skin off my nose with him out this week, but yes – you probably need him in your team for the run home. As for Corey Norman… read more here.”

From Reece Thompson - Facebook Question Extraordinaire.

“What about McKendry? Any word on what is wrong with him and if he will be back soon? People are saying this smells like the same thing that happened to Grant at the start of the year.”

The Postman replies…
Beware DreamTeamers - Sam McKendry has a calf injury and yes that is what kept Tim Grant out for so long. But everyone is different with their recovery and you could see Big Sam back on the field pretty quickly. But the underlying thing here is – why is Sam McKendry on your team? He just can’t match the better props in DT land and you should be upgrading, not waiting for him to get fit.

H2H player with 10 trades left. Is now the right time to replace Reynolds with Luke to join Smith in the hooker position?

Was a lock in before Peats came on the scene…

Josh Reynolds has been somewhat of a DT hoax for most of the year… well that’s what most of us thought for the first ten weeks. But he’s been better than anyone could have hoped for and is a tough sell given what he has done.

Look – if you think Issac Luke is more explosive then it makes sense but if Reynolds holds his spot when Trent Hodkinson comes back – he could still be a 35-45ppg player. How much better will Isaac Luke be?

PS. I hope you are talking about Josh and not Adam Reynolds!
