Slightly overcast Norman…

The Postman June 25, 2012 No Comments

The Postman like many DreamTeamers, has been saddled with Stormin’ Corey Norman for the last month… but is the Brisbane five-eighth capable of waking up in time?

Let’s start with what we know – Corey Norman has been a fine replacement for Darren Lockyer at the Broncos and he started 2012 with a bang DT wise. To date he is averaging a healthy 43 DT ppg (not including his 34 from Friday) – which you’ll happily take over the course of the season.

But if we look at only his last month (Rounds 12-16) – there’s a seriously overcast look to Norman now.

He is still capable of turning into a raging DT storm of points – he scored 61, 80 and 64 from Round 6-8 – but he could remain almost disinterested for the rest of the year like he has for the past month with scores of 17, 28 and two 34s.

He has also lost a bucket-load of cash that you could’ve used to upgrade before Round 12 – like $85k since – and the big question now is can you get that money back?

Well given Norman is a member of The Dixie Ice Creams – I sure hope so.

The key is to look at the makeup of your back three. Right now I’ve got him slated to start next to Todd Carney and Konrad Hurrell as my locked in outside men. They are supported by cheapie Ken Sio and the rather too often injured – Josh Mansour.

So the question for me and I’m sure many DreamTeamers - is: Who can do a potentially better job than Norman in the final rounds? And if I can’t really find a strong replacement – can I afford to burn a trade when the guy is capable of 50+ if the Broncos get hot for the run home?

Thoughts DreamTeamers?
