Watch Out! As a footy frustrated Dummy’s Half delivers his verdict on what guys to target as the post-Origin Round 12 commences.
Well, it’s that time of the week again folks, as we look at what guys are going to make you money in Round 12. The Sharks and Warriors won’t see any action due to the bye, meaning ‘The Enigma’ Konrad Hurrell will have to miss our list this week – don’t worry, he’ll be back.
Obviously, this isn’t the column to vent my Origin frustrations, but please, for my sanity, tell me your thoughts below.. However, what we must think about is how the guys who played last last night will back up on the weekend. The mail we have coming in is that T-Rex, The Coaltrain and Uate are in some doubt, but other than that, most guys should be fine.
So on that note, lets have a look at the money spinners for Round 12..
The CashCows
1. Tony ‘T-Rex’ Williams
Price: $203,300
Break Even: 20
Hopefully the big fella’s back is fine after Origin, because I’m excited about what he’ll do this week. I know he’s not in the minus’, but last nights Origin match reminded me of just how damaging this guy is. His tackle break points alone (30 in Origin 1) make him worth owning, and my bet is that a +50 performance will be on the cards this week against the Panthers.
2. Matt Ryan
Price:$162,100
Break Even: -8
Everything that I have seen so far from Ryan I have liked, and at the moment I can’t see why it wont continue. He’s a busy second-row forward who is still extremely cheap, he’ll score around 40 again this week – get him in while you still can!
3. Aidan Sezer
Price: $152,600
Break Even: -15
A guy who I still dont have in my side, and it really frustrates me… He’s been consistent since coming in, and if anything, will only improve as he takes over Prince as a primary option in attack. He kicks goals, has a good kicking game, and whilst he’s not spectacular, he scores well. If you wan’t to free up some cash, he’s one of the best options out there.
Notable Mentions Josh Mansour ($105,800, -17)
Do you think Mansour should have been in the Top 3? Vent all your built up DT anger in the comments section.
The Round 11 Guns
1. Corey Parker
Price: $390,100
Break Evens: 54
The ultimate DT gun, Parker will look to put in another monster performance against the Storm. The lock forward will still have eyes on a Maroon jumper, and with Taylor and Gillett not really grasping their opportunities in Origin 1, a little window may have opened. If his goal kicking is on song, look for him to pass his break even pretty comfortably.
2. Issac Luke
Price: $331,500
Break Evens: 64
His break even is big, but I wouldn’t want to bet against the Kiwi from getting there. He’s coming into the match well rested against a depleted Raiders, another big performance is on the cards.
Price: $277,000
Break Evens: 29Woods continues to go from strength to strength in DT and has scored +50 in his last four games. He’ll never score a monster round, but his consistent numbers are great to have in the front-row position.

I have to make three trade this week and since that is all but it possible I’m tossing up between Josh Josh Mcguire and T-Rex. Does anyone know what Josh Mcguires BE is this week?
I need to upgrade some of my bench FRF’s/SRF’s. I currently have Shillington and Costigan on my FRF bench and Ben Henry and Cameron Circaldo on my SRF bench.
Any advise about what to do would be appreciated?
I interestingly have Ciraldo and Costigan as well Luke, and they will be the two men I’ll be trading this week. Ciraldo has been one of may favourites since Round 1 but it’s time to let him go. Costigan has hinted that he would start pulling bigger numbers but just hasn’t quite come through.
For starters, stay away from T-Rex, he’s hurt.. And McGuire (good option!) his break even is 36..
I like Sam Burgess and think he would be a great addition to your side if you dont already have him? He’s not much more than Neville and you’ll make money for Ciraldo. There’s always Matt Ryan there to pick up for cheap as well.
I think Shaun Fensom will go from strength to strength over the next few weeks and should be on your target list if he’s not already. The thing I like about Fensom, apart from his 50 tackles, is that he is becoming a more focal point on offence, especially close to the line, I think we’ll see a few tries out of him before the year is over. But yes, you pay the big bucks for him.
I’m a strong believer in not skimping in your front row like many others do. I feel that when you go cheap in that position you get very cheap results – I know they are pricey, but Aaron Woods, and to a slightly lesser extent, Josh McGuire and James Graham are well worth the cash. Woods and Graham are more consistent, but McGuire should be a beast through Origin…
As for Shillo, he’ll play every Origin so if you need help fast, punt him, but he’ll be good for Canberra post-Origin. Henry is a tough one, but if it were me I’d take your $119,800 profit and upgrade.
Hope that helps mate, it’s obviously tricky without seeing your side or available cash.. but sounds like you’re on the right track!

Thanks for your advise TDH!
I ended up trading out Ciraldo. Will cash in my profits next week with Henry as I am looking to get Cherry Evans next time his price drops which is looking like it could be this week.
My Forwards are looking quite strong now
FRF (Sam Burgess, Josh McGuire, David Shillington, Justin Poore)
SRS (Paul Gallen, Corey Parker, Shaun Fensom, Matt Ryan, Ben Henry, Neville Costigan).
