Quite an Achievment – Rd 9 #winning team

Señor Winning is in for a look at the highest scoring team for Round 9 of NRL Dream Team.
Typo or deceptively sneaky name? That’s what you might be thinking when considering the highest scoring team this week…

Daniel and his side The Quite Achiever managed to post a handy 1,017 this round, one of 28 coaches to crack the tonne. Unlike many of our weekly winners, Daniel is ranked 25th overall, showing he’s no flash in the pan and will be there at the business end of the season. What made his team so dominant? Let’s break it down.

Todd Carney (74), Corey Norman (37) and Konrad Hurrell (37) certainly got things going from the back.

Greg Inglis (98) and Dene Halatau (53) are a popular centre pairing in many of the top sides, and didn’t let Daniel down here.

I really like the balance of his halves – DCE (50), Cooper Cronk (65) providing stability, with must-have rookies Adam Reynolds (40) and Aidan Sezer (55) chipping in from the bench.

You can’t go wrong with a front row of James Tamou (40), Aaron Woods (59) and Josh McGuire (39), but I’m worried that at least two will miss some game time through Origin selection.

Robbie Farah (77) and Josh Reynolds (63) certainly is a handy duo in at hooker, while a backrow of Liam Fulton (61 – smart buy), CP13 (66) and Feleti Mateo (52) delivered, with Jack De Belin (32) and popular cheapy Matt Ryan (43) helping out off the bench.

This is a championship winning side, no doubt about that. I can see around eight players who are in the frame to play Origin (Carney, Inglis, DCE, Cronk, Tamou, Woods, Farah, Parker), but not all are going to make the cut, so if he can trade well he will still sit around the top. I’d be interested to see how many trades have been used at this stage to get to where he’s at…

For the record: My side #winning have turned around our disastrous start to the season and are back on track with 858 in Round 9. While the focus has always been on head-to-head glory, the early performances have been unacceptable, and I expect nothing but the best from my charges for the remainder of the year.
